Leeds Festival 2018 is a very different LeedsFest for me as I have a new festival buddy. It is Ellie’s first Leeds Festival and her “proper” festival too. Whilst we have been to Bingley Music Live and lots of gigs and concerts we haven’t done a big festival before. As she is 15 now, next summer she is able to go on her own with her friends. As I’m something of a self-confessed festival veteran now I want to take her so she can see what it’s like. I want her to experience everything, know what happens where and generally show her around. My first visit to Yorkshire Sculpture Park was on a frosty, cold Decembers day. I said then I would have to go back to see the park in the summer. As the weather has been so nice I have been working on this years resolution and exploring more of my local area so we visited again on a gloriously sunny day.
Visiting Alnwick Castle is something I have been wanting to tick off my wishlist for a while. Not only is it a gorgeous castle and grounds, but it’s Hogwarts. Yes, actual Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! The first two Harry Potter films used Alnwick Castle as the school. And the Harry Potter geek in me needs to see it. I finally had my chance to wander around it during our Northumberland holiday.
There are just three days left of school here in Leeds before the summer holidays. If you are anything like me the fear is setting in. How am I going to keep Ellie busy for six weeks? How will I pay for it? Fortunately Kids Pass have an amazing deal to help us all out.
Exploring the Farne Islands off the North East Coast is something I have been wanting to do for a long time. On a gloriously sunny day whilst we were staying in Northumberland we finally got the chance to go.
