Are you caught up on my Catalonia holiday diary? If so you will know that to save a super early start on our flight day we stayed in an airport hotel. I have a night in a hotel plus our airport car parking for the week from Holiday Extras. Today I have my Best Western Everglades Park hotel Liverpool review.

The Best Western Everglades Park hotel Liverpool is in the Widnes area. It is 7 miles from Liverpool airport so a perfect location for a stay before you fly.

Best Western Everglades Park hotel Liverpool my review

Our stay at the Best Western Everglades Park hotel Liverpool was a Saturday night. We arrived at the hotel at about 4pm. Check in was incredibly chaotic. Reception didn’t seem to know about our stay so had to look at my email confirmation. Once they had everything they needed about our stay we were given our room card and directions.

Our room is basic but very clean and has everything you need for a nights stay. The beds are really comfortable with plenty of pillows and blankets. I love the refreshments tray, as well as the usual things the biscuits and hot chocolates are a great touch.

As we were having an early start the next day we brought a picnic tea so I can’t tell you about the food or drinks in the hotel.

The large TV in the room is great for an early night in bed watching a little bit of television.

Our night in the hotel wasn’t very relaxing at all and we didn’t have a good nights sleep. The Best Western Everglades Park hotel Liverpool is also a wedding venue too. Being on the first floor we were right above the reception room and noise from the floor below was SO loud! The music was on until well past midnight. We also seem to have been put in a room amongst the wedding party. Children were running up and down the corridor all night. And, later on drunk party goers were walking along the corridor and shouting. Our door was tried a few times, I don’t think someone was trying to get in just had a few too many glasses and forgot which room they were in. Getting up at 4am after 3 or 4 hours of broken sleep just wasn’t much fun at all.

Check out was equally problematic as there was no-one at the desk, after standing for over 15 minutes we rang the hotel and eventually someone did come to answer that and see us out.

Best Western Everglades Park hotel Liverpool – final thoughts

The hotel is in a great location for the airport with really comfortable rooms that have everything you need.

As much as I don’t like giving negative reviews, as it is at the moment we wouldn’t stay in the Best Western Everglades Park hotel Liverpool as an airport hotel again. I think we would have had more sleep at home despite needing to get up earlier to drive to Liverpool. If guests using it as an airport hotel were put in rooms higher up, away from the function rooms and guests it would be much better. I do think on a weekday night it is unlikely to have weddings and you will probably get a better nights sleep. And I would definitely choose it for a lively weekend away with the girls.

Do you ever stay in airport hotels before your holidays? What has been your experience of them?

  1. Best Western is one of my favourite hotel brands and my most recent stay at their hotels was in Switzerland. I was in Liverpool few months ago but will definitely keep this in mind next time I plan a visit to that side of the country.

  2. I would have been cross about the noise on the first night… I stayed in a Best Western in Bavaria and it was really good, so I would give this one a chance if we were in the area! 🙂

    • The noise did spoil our stay but the hotel itself is nice. I would go again for a lively weekend away.

    • It is a lovely room and nice hotel, the noise just lets it down. It would be great for a lively weekend away though.

  3. Sounds like a great place to stay other than the noise the first night. That would have driven me up a wall tbh

  4. Oh no I hate it when I can’t get sleep due to loud music and children running around. I always think if the hotel guest aren’t in the party, they should be on a floor well away from it.

    • They definitely should put the other guests as far away as possible. It’s such a simple solution so I don’t know why they’re not doing it!
