This weekend me, Ellie and my friend Linda saw Thirty Seconds to Mars The Monolith Tour at Manchester Arena. It has been SO many years since Thirty Seconds to Mars have toured the UK so I have been looking forward to this for a long time. Ellie has grown up listening to them and this is the first time she has seen them so I was excited for her too. I love that we like so many of the same bands and that she’s old enough to come along and enjoy them now.

Manchester Arena have brought in a new age restriction in the standing area since re-opening. Now there are no under 16s allowed. Seating isn’t somewhere I would usually chose for a gig but, I have to admit it makes a nice change. My only complaint is from the seats I can’t squeeze my way to the front or get any half-decent photographs.

At the moment just Jared and Shannon Leto are touring as Tomo Milisevic is taking a break from tour. Thirty Seconds to Mars The Monolith Tour at Manchester Arena takes to the stage at 8pm, appearing from a huge metal box.

As always Jared pulls lots of people up from the crowd to join him on stage. One guy even got up and after some whispering with the band brought his girlfriend up and proposed. I’m happy to report she said yes! (Imagine how awkward that could have been.)

One of my highlights of the night is seeing City of Angels live with everyones phones lighting up the arena. It really does like the land of a billion lights!

Can you even go to a gig and not come home with a band t-shirt? I swear most of my wardrobe is band tees. Even weirder is…I rarely wear them as they’re just irreplaceable! So, obviously I have a new Thirty Seconds to Mars The Monolith Tour top.

Thirty Seconds to Mars The Monolith Tour at Manchester Arena, final thoughts

All three of us loved seeing the Thirty Seconds to Mars The Monolith Tour at Manchester Arena. They are one of my favourite bands so I always enjoy seeing them. This time was even more special as I love how much Ellie enjoyed it too. Music is such a huge part of our little family and seeing her light up when the band come on or she hears the first chords to her favourite song is amazing.

The Thirty Seconds to Mars The Monolith Tour is moving around the rest of Europe during April so if you like the band and are nearby see if you can get tickets. They are in Barcelona in a few weeks whilst we are on holiday there and I am SO tempted to go again.

Do you like Thirty Seconds to Mars? Who are your favourite bands to see live?

  1. This is the first time I am hearing about Thirty seconds to mars, sounds like a really fun gig to have gone to. Glad the girl said yes otherwise it would have been super awkward lol

  2. I love 30 seconds to mars, however haven’t actually heard any of their new songs so my stories check them out.
Nor have I ever been to a concert so that would be exciting,

  3. I didn’t realise they had changed the age since reopening, that explains why it has 14+ on where our tickets are for next month. I’m glad you had a good time, I love watching live bands
