In the summer tickets for The Killers went on sale, I decided I didn’t want to go. They sold out instantly and I immediately regretted not buying them. Fortunately they released another date, very last minute and I was ready and waiting to buy them. So, on the 9th November me, Ellie and my friend had a road trip to see The Killers at Liverpool Echo Arena.
We got to Liverpool before the doors opened and the fans were queuing to get in so we decided to have a wander around and something to eat. Despite getting there after the doors opening we were straight in and walked straight to the front of the stage! So obviously we didn’t move from there all night.
The Killers at Liverpool Echo Arena – Support band
The support band for The Killers at Liverpool Echo Arena was Alex Cameron with Roy Molloy. Alex Cameron is an Australian synth/indie-pop singer who is new to me. Even without knowing any songs the duo are really good to watch. They definitely put on a good performance.
The Killers at Liverpool Echo Arena – Wonderful Wonderful tour
At about 9pm The Killers came out on stage. From our front row position we have the most amazing view of the band, and of course the front man Brandon Flowers *swoons*.
The Killers always put on an amazing production. There is lots of lights and backdrops, confetti explosions and moving around interacting with the audience.
I am (obviously) a little bit in love with Brandon Flowers so I love seeing him sing, play guitar and play the keyboard.
On the night there was a great mix of songs from the new album as well as songs from older albums. I’m really happy they are performing every one of my favourite songs on this tour.

The Killers at Liverpool Echo Arena – Merchandise
I can never resist the merchandise stand at gigs. So, as always a band t-shirt has made its way home with me. There isn’t a massive amount of choice on this tour, a couple of t-shirts and a hoodie so picking one you want isn’t a tough decision. They are really reasonable prices too.
The Killers at Liverpool Echo Arena – final thoughts
Me, Ellie and Linda all absolutely loved seeing The Killers at Liverpool Echo Arena. It’s quite a lot of years since I saw them last and they are better than I remember. I’m a huge music fan and have been to hundreds of gigs and this has to be in my top ten ever gigs. Seeing the songs that have dominated the charts for so long (Mr Brightside has apparently been in the UK top 100 charts almost continuously since its release in 2004) live is an amazing experience.
The crowd on the night helped make the show. I was a bit wary about having Ellie right at the front but there was no pushing or surging. Everyone just stood enjoying the night singing along and jumping around to the music.
If you get the chance to see The Killers Wonderful Wonderful tour, or any other tour, you absolutely must go.
Do you like The Killers? Have you been along to this tour?
