Hello Skin is a beauty store selling skincare products especially for eczema, dry skin, psoriasis and acne. They have brands ranging from high end Clinique and La Roche-Posay to home favourites such as E45 and Oilatum and drug store brands such as Biore and Clearasil. Whilst they specialise in skin problems there are plenty of things for normal skin too. They recently asked me if I would like to try a few things out from the store. Today I am sharing the La Roche-Posay Effaclar astringent lotion.
Who should use the La-Roche Posay Effaclar astringent lotion?
This range is for acne prone skin. The La Roche-Posay Effaclar astringent lotion (clarifying toner) helps blemish-prone skin become more oil-free and makes the formation of spots less likely. It is an anti blackhead formula. The micro-exfoliant lotion helps to unblock and reduce the size of pores.
How to use La Roche-Posay Effaclar astringent lotion
- Cleanse and dry the skin.
- Apply the lotion to a cotton pad.
- Apply gently to the face, making sure to avoid the eye area.
It doesn’t need rinsing off and once it is dry you can carry on with your usual skin care routine and make-up.
My review of the La Roche-Posay Effaclar astringent lotion
La Roche-Posay is a brand I already know and love and I do have another product from the Effaclar range already. Whilst I don’t have acne prone skin my skin is hormonal. It is often oily and breaks out at certain times of the month.
Firstly I love the packaging the bright blue and white really stands out on my dressing table. The flip lid is great as I’m quickly going through my routine. Whilst the lotion squirts out of the top, it doesn’t come out too fast so I don’t end up with a cotton pad soaking in it!
The La Roche-Posay Effaclar astringent lotion has a clean and fresh scent. It does smell astringent but it isn’t too over powering. The lotion doesn’t sting when I apply it and it hasn’t made my skin feel dry or tight.
I’ve found it great at removing the leftover make-up cleansing can miss. Afterwards my skin feels really clean and fresh.
Unfortunately it came mid-way through my problem week so I had already had a few breakouts. It definitely makes my skin less oily though and I didn’t get any more breakouts. I’m really interested to test it the next few months and see if it completely stops them.
I use a toner twice daily so I am replacing my night time toner with the La Roche-Posay Effaclar astringent lotion. I really love how my skin feels afterwards and how it removes the make-up from the day.
Have you tried this product before? Or anything else from La Roche-Posay? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
