Ellie is a massive Justin Bieber fan so for Christmas last year I bought her tickets to see the UK Justin Bieber Purpose tour. After waiting excitedly for 10 months October finally came for her.
I am not really a fan of Justin to be honest, whilst I was happy it was exciting for Ellie the nearer it got the more apprehensive I got about it. I was worrying about what the crowd would be like in the standing area and just how loud thousands of screaming girls would be. In the days before the Sheffield date the news was full of how badly he was behaving, he was shouting at fans for screaming and walking off the stage. I was crossing my fingers, for Ellies sake, that by the time we saw him he was behaving himself better.
Sheffield Arena was just opening up and after a bit of queuing we were inside. Our first stop was the merchandise stalls so Ellie could get a few things she was wanting and then we made our way into the arena. After lots of shuffling and darting into spaces we got a perfect spot near the stage, close enough to see perfectly but not so close there was any crushing.
A cube shot out of the floor up into the air and the Justin Bieber Purpose tour began! There was screaming when Justin first came out and as he went closer to certain sections but on the whole there was just cheering and singing along to the songs. As he was on I definitely felt myself warming to him, he actually came across as quite humble and grateful for his fans.
The show is really incredible to watch, even for a non-fan like me! It is put together well with a good mix of performance and theatrics. The stage was huge but Justin fills his time equally across all the different areas so non of the fans feel left out. The dancers are all amazing and also moved around the stage equally. Justin regularly spoke to the fans after a song and also did a Q&A which I’ve never seen at a concert before.
By the end of the night I was really enjoying myself and my guilty pleasure of the night was singing and dancing along to Baby, Baby.
