How I use / decorate my planners

Over the last few months I’ve been sharing the huge planner prize I had recently won, this week I’ve decided to show how I have been using all the goodies and how I organise and decorate my planners. I use three planners as there is just too much to keep in one, I have a personal sized planner that is my general day to day planner, an A5 sized planner for blogging and a personal sized planner that I use as a Christmas planner.

Before I get in to the how I decorate them, I’ll answer the question I’m asked most often “Why?” I do it. As soon as I started using planners in January I almost instantly wanted them to look different, I didn’t like the standard pages and sections they came with and they just looked boring to me! Once I had the pages and layout I wanted it still didn’t seem quite right and having lists of writing each day made looking for specific things tricky. Using stickers and decoration lets me see at a glance where things are, so if I want to remind myself when an upcoming Doctors or hair appointment is I can skim through until I find the right sticker.

My personal “life” planner is the most heavily personalised and decorated, as there is more to keep track of in there. I have the front pockets filled with cute paperclips and quotes and there are a few charms clipped to it. The pages inside are all decorated so I can see at a glance what is going on each day and what I need to be doing.

As well as the standard diary I’ve added monthly goals and to do list pages, monthly thoughts ideas and dreams pages, to do lists and shopping lists.

My A5 blogging planner isn’t quite as decorated as my personal planner as there isn’t as much inside it. The front pockets are decorated with paperclips and die cut cards and I have a lot of charms attached to it.

And I use 2 diaries inside, one for this blog and one for my nail blog. I use icon stickers in both diaries to keep track of what I plan to post and what has been written / done so far.

My Christmas planner isn’t set up just yet, but will have a day on one page diary for November and December, to do lists, shopping lists and gift ideas, I’m sure I’ll be posting all about that nearer the time once it is all set up.
