I was really pleased to have recently been asked to review a new book, Follow Me Home by Jen Benjamin, a newly released chick-lit / rom-com novel that came just in time for me to take on holiday with me.
Katie Kendall has everything going for her. She wrote a bestselling novel and now it’s being made into a film. She should be walking on air but, instead, her life seems to be spiraling out of control. Her roommate (ahem, husband) completely checks out and her life is bombarded by a completely new cast of characters including a famous Hollywood director and a heartthrob who anyone would kill to spend time with!
All Katie wants is a place where she feels at home but has her success made that impossible?
Follow Me Home is a fun read for anyone who wants a sweet story and a smile.

Follow Me Home is told through the main character, Katie Kendall. Katie is married, her novel is about to be turned into a film and she is living what seems a perfect life in L.A …. until her life falls apart.
The story is fast paced but not rushed and it kept me interested all the way through. It has all the emotions of a chick lit book and it is also really funny in places, the comedic timing really is brilliant! It slightly reminded me of Bridget Jones’s Diary as Katie has a very self depreciating sense of humour. I also found it incredibly moving in some parts, probably because 2 years ago I walked home into almost the exact situation Katie finds herself in, and the whole thing was very relatable, I’m sure even if you hadn’t been through this yourself it would still be very moving to read.
All the characters in the book are very likeable and I found myself rooting for certain characters and even felt sorry for the ones I shouldn’t have.
Follow Me Home is the perfect summer read and I would definitely recommend packing it in your suitcase if you are going on holiday.
I loved reading this so much I am giving it 4.5 / 5 stars.
