I recently attended The Body Shops blogging event at Leeds for their new British Rose collection. The night started with prosecco and chocolates (yum!) whilst we had a wander around the shop and waited for everyone to arrive.
We were firstly introduced to their new range that has been brought out to celebrate 40 years of The Body Shop, the British Rose collection. I was very impressed to hear the roses used throughout the range have all been grown in a very sustainable and organic way. The products were passed around for us to try and also smell. I wasn’t sure what I was going to think of the Rose scent as it is one of those scents you either love or hate but it was gorgeous! Everything smells really modern and fresh and not at all old-lady like.
We were then split into 3 different groups and sent to different parts of the store to showcase other Body Shop products. My group went to the Spa section first. I hadn’t seen any of the Spa of the World range before so this was a great place for me to start. There were demonstrations of the scrubs, creams and oils , the whole range would be great though for a really indulgent pampering evening. My favourite was the Polynesian Monoi Radiance oil as it smells divine! I brought a small sample home and I’m going to try adding it to a hot bath and try using it on the ends of my hair after straightening as a serum and to make my hair smell lovely.
Next we went to the skin care section. I was the guinea pig here and had a skin consultation, my make-up was removed and 6 different products from their skin care range was used. I wouldn’t normally use as many products but my skin did feel amazing afterwards so I’ll definitely be adding some of these to my skincare. We also all got to try 2 new skincare products that will be coming out soon the Drops of Life brightening serum and Oils of Life sleeping cream.
Lastly we headed over to the make-up counter, as I’d had my make-up removed I was the guinea pig here again along with another blogger. Two different make-up looks were shown, a heavy night time look and a lighter day time look, with the new British Rose palette. The palette is lovely and I’ll definitely be buying this on payday, it has 6 eyeshadows and 2 blushes and is £20. We also got to test out the new lip and cheek stains which were all great colours. I can say the stains really work, after wearing it at the event I couldn’t get it off that night and still had bright pink lips the next day at work!
Once the make-up was finished we were able to shop and everyone was given a goodie box as a thank you for attending.
It was a great evening and I tried some amazing products. Thank you to The Body Shop for having me.
