July was the start of me using my DSLR, a Nikon D3300. I really hope you have noticed the difference in the quality of my photos? I had had my camera since January but spent a few months being scared of it….then a few more months playing around with it. The difference in quality to my iPhone photos is just incredible! I have also spent this month getting to grips with editing my photos too. I am so happy with how my photos are looking now. Today I’m sharing my favourite monthly photographs.

My favourite monthly photographs in July – Red roses

This has to be one of my favourite monthly photographs in July. Not only are red roses just gorgeous! But here I have been playing around with depth of field. I really love how some flowers are super clear and the rest are slightly blurry.

My favourite monthly photographs in July – Jamie’s Italian garlic bread

Visiting Jamie’s Italian was my first time photographing food “out”. I can’t believe the difference in how the food shots have come out with my camera. The garlic bread is my favourite photo from the meal so had to be in my favourite monthly photographs in July.

My favourite monthly photographs in July – candid mirror shot

Candid photographs are one of my favourite type to look at. So I had to get one of Ellie. This is her washing her hands whilst talking to me. I love how happy El looks and I adore this luxurious bathroom!

My favourite monthly photographs in July – flatlay

When I am scrolling through Insta flatlay photographs are what I like most often. There is something about knowing how thought out everything is even though they have been meticulously placed in the perfect position that draws me in. I am still learning that technique but was happy with this simple flatlay I took. Despite being a beginner at flaylays this makes it in to my favourite photographs in July.

My favourite monthly photographs in July – Anastasia Beverley Hills Modern Renaissance palette

This photograph made it on to my instagram this month. The palette belongs to Ellie’s friend and I can’t even tell you how jealous I am of it! She was super lovely and let me have a good look at it and of course take photos. Whilst I am not happy with the flatlay the palette is so gorgeous it deserves to be in my favourite monthly photographs.

This was an accidental photograph taken as a set my camera down. I love it as it shows off my new blog photo background props. I feel like having nice backgrounds is making the world of difference with my photographs now.
