Highlighters are one of my favourite make up items right now. I’m not sure if it is the warmer spring weather making me crave the dewey, shimmery skin? Or the inner magpie in me loving anything sparkly? Whatever it is I can’t get enough of the glow. I have been shopping my make up stash and sorting out what I have recently. After playing with everything I am sharing my favourite highlighters every make up bag should have.
My favourite highlighters – The Balm, Mary Lou Manizer
No favourite highlighters post is complete without beauty blogger favourite The Balm Mary Lou Manizer. I love it so much I wrote an entire blog post on it last year here. Mary Lou is a stunning golden highlighter with an intense shimmer. It blends out perfectly and a tiny dusting goes a long way. As it is such an intense highlight I think it is the perfectly highlighter for nights out or heavy make-up looks. The Balm Mary Lou Manizer is £19.99 in Superdrug.
My favourite highlighters – Mac Mineralize Skinfinish, Soft and Gentle
Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle is a beautiful baked mineral highlighter with a peachy golden hue. Soft and Gentle blends out easily on the skin and lasts all day. It is very pigmented so a little goes a long way. The highlight isn’t as intense as Mary Lou so I think it is a great daytime highlighter. At £24.50 from Mac this is on the pricier side, but it is a gorgeous colour and will last a long time.
My favourite highlighters – Make-Up Revolution, Radiance Highlight Palette
The Make Up Revolution Radiance Highlight palette is a great budget palette that has to make my favourite highlighters list. There are three shades in the palette, a deep golden orange, a white and a peachy gold. I will be honest and say I am not too keen on the orangey shade but it might look better on darker or warmer skin tones. All three shades have a subtle highlight which makes them ideal for daytime, minimal looks. The Make Up Revolution Radiance Highlight palette is £8 in Superdrug.
My favourite highlighters – PS (Primark), Strobe Sticks
I have spoken about the Primark PS Strobe Sticks before so have to add them to my favourite highlighters. There are three strobe sticks in the pack, a gold, white and pink. All three shades are gorgeous and have a really intense highlight to them. They are really creamy but quite tricky to blend out over a large area like the cheekbones though. I love using them on my brow bone or inner corner of my eye where they work perfectly. The Primark PS Strobe Sticks are just £3, making them £1 each!
What are your favourite highlighters? Would you choose any from my list?
