I was recently sent some yoghurts to review, I’m not usually a huge yoghurt fan so wasn’t sure what to expect from the Danone Danio yoghurts. Danio is a “super thick, super tasty yogurt over a layer of delicious fruit on the bottom. The secret behind danio’s super thickness is that it’s made to Danone’s strained yogurt recipe which uses more milk than standard yogurts to make it amazingly thick and high in protein.”
They come in strawberry, blueberry, passionfruit and cherry flavours.
The yoghurt really is incredibly thick, so thick a spoon will stand up in it and you can hold a spoon upside down without any dripping off! Each pot has a layer of yoghurt at the top and a layer of chunky fruit at the bottom. The yoghurt is delicious, both on its own or stirred up with the fruit.
Danios secret ingredient is it’s nutritional information, each yoghurt has about 12g of protein and 18g of carbohydrate which makes it a great post-workout snack which is brilliant if you’re a gym bunny like me.
I personally liked the strawberry flavour best and wasn’t as keen on the passion fruit flavour as that was quite tart, but obviously that’s my personal taste. I’ve loved these so much I’ve re-bought them myself and I’m eating one as soon as I come in from the gym.
Have you tried these yoghurts yet? What did you think of them?
